Next Meeting

Dear IASA Atlanta members and friends,

Our February meeting will take place on Wednesday, 2/10 at 6:30 pm, as usual, in the Matrix Resources' Perimeter office with pizza and soft drinks served at 6 pm. (Note: You can find the address in the "Contact Us" box to the left of this article)

This meeting will be somewhat special: we will be raffling out 10 passes to Atlanta ITARC conference (see the flyer below).

Also, we will hold a 5 minute business meeting prior to the presentation in order to ratify some changes to our chapter Bylaws that the Board of Directors has adopted. The changes are intended to streamline and improve the process of electing the new Board of DIrectors and to move the election to the second quarter so they don't interfere with ITARC activities. If you are a member, we need you to show up to vote on ratifying these changes at the February meeting.

Finally, our featured speaker and guess will be Leonard Fingerman presenting:

Software Test Automation – Best Practices
Today we hear a lot of buzz about the latest & greatest test automation tools like Selenium, Rational Functional Tester or HP LoadRunner but to make your test automation effort successful it might take more than just having the right tool. This presentation will try to uncover major pitfalls typically involved with test automation efforts. It will provide guidance on successful strategy as well as differences among third-generation frameworks like keyword-driven, data-driven and hybrid. It will also cover various aspects of SOA and performance test automation.

SPEAKER BIO: Leonard Fingerman is working as a Test Architect at SunTrust Bank. He worked previously as Software Test Automation Engineer at AutoTrader.com, Verisign and RSA Security.
